Bragging Rights

I just have to take a minute to share with you my pride for this young man. This guy, my oldest child, is such a great kid. He is 14 and a freshman in high school.

Last night we had his team's soccer party here at the house. He coaches his little brother's soccer team. Those little guys truly love Philip. He is so good with them and really taught them some good skills.

Philip does so much for others. Tomorrow he and I will go downtown to the city square and portray characters from the 1860's. We'll be telling what it was like during the land run. Philip has been doing this once a year since he was 11. He helps at Friendship Feast, an organization that feeds the hungry. He sits on the Youth Leadership Board for his youth group. He plays the saxophone, the trumpet, the piano, and wants a guitar for Christmas. He is a soccer referee and has the training to ref classic and adult games, although he doesn't do that because most people that age can get REALLY grouchy! ha.

He has a goal for his future. He wants to become a Pharmacist. He has done well to keep his grades up. So well that he has earned four waivers from taking finals this week. In one class he holds 106% average. In the other classes he has a 94%, a 96%, and a 93%. So, he's working hard. He finds time to do fun things too, like golf. He likes golf a lot. Too bad we can't afford membership to the Country Club as it is right across the street. Literally, we can hear the balls being whacked from our porch.

Okay, I know this is probably very boring, hearing a mom brag on her son, but for some reason today, I'm just full of pride for him.

You deserve to brag...and country clubs are boring and stuffy, anyhow.

No, it is NOT boring! Brag on, momma! Good young man!

Hey! Thanks for coming to visit my site! I have been checking others, just so much going on.
I don't know about site meters, but I'll give it another try.
Even if they are visiting, they are not commenting, but like I said, it is great if they are and taking away something...something that will help or just be good.
Give that son a HUG!!!!!!!!!!

As well you should brag, Lisa! He sounds like an extremely great kid and his momma must have done something right! You're a great mom, afterall.
All your kids are going to be great!

You can brag all you want, I kind of do that about my 14 year old daughter too :)

We're mummy's, we're allowed.
