I'm Home

First of all, look at the date on this picture. My camera keeps changing it automatically, which is really strange. Actually, this must be happening when the battery runs down. So much for having a camera with the date on it----it never is correct.

We had a great time at the swim competition. This was a meet where my daughter was able to set her times on the events. Now she'll have some numbers that will help her work towards qualifying times. She came in first in her heat in the breaststroke. This is her favorite stroke. Coming in first in her heat means nothing more than she received a small prize for doing so. We'll have to wait a week or so to see how she placed all-in-all, as there were several heats per event, with MANY swimmers. She did very well yesterday and her coach was pleased. Of course, I was proud and beaming. That's what parents do!!

It was a long day. Five hours of swim competition, two hours at the mall, then two hours of driving time to get home. This does not include the nice long lunch that we took at Souper Salad. I puffy heart Souper Salad!!!! Is anyone here familiar with this restaurant? If not, treat yourself and go. 'Tis good!!

Happy, Holy Sunday, everyone!

Thanks for the prayers for a safe trip. I thought of you praying for me as I was driving.

Lisa,
when my daughter was little she fell off a and broke her arm and severed her arteries. As physical therapy they prescribed been in a pool. This led to lessons, which led to swimming teams. From the time she was less than 10 she swam for teams. For YMCA and private clubs. She then swam for her high school team and now she swims for Fordham University. This has helped her focus, persevere, has given her deep and lasting friendships, has helped her transition to college, and much more. It is a great sport because you basically compete against your own times.

I'm happy to hear she is swimming!

Hi, Hector. Yes, the other kids that swim seem to be great kids and very dedicated. My daughter has made some good friends from the team. Your daugher severed arteries?? That sounds very dangerous.

It was terrible. They had to remove some from her leg and put in her arm. It didn't work so they had to do it again. They said that thee was a chance she may not have full use of her hand or that it may not grow as much or be as strong as the other. This happened over 10 years ago, and thanks to God she has been very well!
