A Day in the Life of 1910

My fourth grade daughter went to a place called Rose Hill for her day of "life in a one room school house" on Tuesday. I went along and it was a lot of fun. All of the children dressed as if it were 1910. They had to take their authentic lunch of dried meats, homemade bread, fresh or dried fruits, etc. They used quills with real ink and slate boards for their schoolwork. The outside games were of that era, also---stilts, jump rope, etc. There was even an outhouse----a one holer.

A fun time, but it was on November 29, 2005, not January 17, 2003 as the date suggests. Somebody, please break my camera! That's the only way I'll ever get one that really works!

Oh, that looks like so much fun! The school my elementary age kids go to is not one room, but the total enrollment for grades K-6 is 35 and we just got four new students a couple weeks ago. The good news is they have indoor plumbing! Good to see you back blogging!

Hi, Cath,
I've been away because I've been deep into a book (or two!) I've neglected the blogging world, but I've been having fun!!
