Stuff and Junk
How do I know we are way too technically advanced in this house? As I read my 3-year-old daughter a book this afternoon, she stated, "Pause it on this page while I go to the bathroom."
How do I know that there might be a flu bug starting in this house? Same daughter, trying to recover from respiratory junk, having a coughing spell states, "When you cough, you poop your pants." They learn quick, don't they???
My lenten offerings are at the "so-far-so-good" stage. I'd hope, with it only being two days in.
I'm doing the Ignatius retreat. I've had the book for a very long time and I've gone to Ignatian retreats, but I've never done one alone. My goal is to be up and done, every morning, before getting the kids up. Another Lenten sacrifice I'm doing is keeping the house clean ALL*THE*TIME. Not an easy feat, but one that really challenges me and gives me daily goals to use as prayer for others. I'm also not eating anything that is not "good" for me, such as pigging out or over indulging.
As a family, we are dedicating ourselves to praying the Rosary every night, as opposed to hit and miss or only one decade.
I'm off of here to finish my laundry pile----this is a BIG part of keeping the house clean. I've added a bit of extra sacrifice for myself and I'm not asking anyone to put piles away this Lent. I'll wash, dry, fold, and put away all by myself. Maybe the extra stair climbing will pay off somehow!
Lenten Blessings to you!
