The Window

I found these statues in a bedroom, all turned facing the window. This bedroom is shared by three children. I don't know who did it, I don't know why they did it, but I found it rather interesting. Maybe they are thinking, "There's got to be more to life than this dusty window sill............."

So Neat!

My oldest son showed my this trick today. I changed a digital picture into a coloring page. This pic is of Kathryn on her first day of preschool. I just think this is really neat.

Blog

I found MUM2TWELVE over at crazyacres and it is a very nice blog. I've put it on my blogroll. Check it out. What a beautiful family!

Another One Bites The Dust

As I was walking out the door from dropping Kathryn at preschool, the teacher called my name. My shoes were wet from the rain, so as I tried to stop, my feet slipped out from under me and I went down. In the instant between the start of the fall and the actual landing, I had a whole lifetime to think of how I was going to handle this in front of ALL the other mothers dropping off their children. Gasps insued, but no laughter. What gracious people! I laid there, propped up on my arms, looking up at the other mothers, scanning quickly to see that there were no DADS there, too. Thank the good Lord for that! It was bad enough in front of other women, but a man having to see a fat woman laying on the ground with her leg twisted up under her, thinking he might have to help her up, would have honestly thrown me into a twisted seizure. Okay, so one mom came down to my level and touched my ankle, making sure it wasn't broken. Was that a smirk I saw on her face? No, that was just a dimple in her cheek......................I think. I slowly got up, dusted myself off, blew a kiss to my daughter, and trotted out the door. Damaged, but not broken.

Kaitlyn, waiting in the car to be dropped off at the Jr. High, asked what took me so long, "We're going to be late."
"I fell," I told her.
"No you didn't! Oh my gosh, how embarrassing! Let's get out of here!" No-Duh, I wanted to reply. "Oh, I almost forgot, are you okay?" There's that nice girl that I raised. I knew she was in there somewhere.

Alexa's Challenge

Okay, if you visit http://ibetyourememberme.blogspot.com you'll see the challenge from Alexa to show your chest. Here is my medicine chest. Actually, it's not a chest at all, but a few shelves in my closet. I also have old videos on the bottom shelf, which I should get rid of as they are so old they probably don't even work anymore. I just recently went through that clear container on the third shelf down and threw out all of the old meds. See that urinal at the top? Hubby got that when he turned 30 as a gag gift. He hasn't had to use it, yet. The pink box beside the clear container? It's a pregnancy test. I always keep one handy. I think the last time I used one was about a year ago. I have always liked taking a pregnancy test. It's actually quite fun to see if I have enough aim to hit that little cup. I'm always amazed at how HOT pee is when it leaves the body. I only know this as I'm actually NOT so good at hitting that little cup. Okay, here's my challenge to YOU to take Alexa's challenge. Show her your chest!

Not Publishers Clearing House, But Still Exciting!

I won! I won! I received a package in the mail today. I had put my name into a drawing at the Midwest Catholic Family Conference and they drew my name. It is a lovely basket full of great things---a pink, beaded, cross bracelet, a "Live For Him" arm band thing that all the kids wear, a notepad, an awesome magnet, a bag of candy--Scripture Mints to be exact, a very yummy smelling candle, and a flat of stickers. Made my day!!! This is a great day----I won and my bank account is MUCH BETTER, so this woman is HAPPY!!

Braves vs. Padres

Well, this evening turned out to be an evening full of fun and games, jokes and laughter. I really needed this as I was very upset with myself earlier when I discovered that I have overdrawn my checking account by over $500. Hubby is not happy, but I'm sure that didn't need to be said. Oh well, it's happened before and it probably will happen again. These pics show some of the fun we had. The kids made themselves look like their legs were really short. This cracked me up. Everyone was cracking up. Then a food fight ensued after supper. What you see in the pic is meat, cheese, and BBQ potato chips. If you're wondering, this was not our "meal" for the day----we ate lunch at Grandma's today and had a bite of sandwich this evening. All is well because as much fun as a food fight is, everyone knows that it must be cleaned up, so my floor is all nice and clean, scented with Clorox. Mmmm...I love the smell of Clorox. Clean and sanitized.

The little ones went to bed early and the older two children and I watched the end of the Braves v. the Padres. I'm not a baseball fan, but I actually enjoyed watching this evening. The kids had some fun with the name of one of the players----Mark Sweeney (said Mark's weenie.) Since the littlier kids were asleep, I didn't banish this kind of talk, I actually laughed right along with them. Bad mother? Maybe. Did we have fun? Yeah. Here are some of the scenarios they came up with, "Mark Sweeney took a 92 mph line drive," and "Hey, that guy got a picture autographed by Mark Sweeney" and "Mark Sweeney is out at first." Okay, enough. You get the picture.

Crazy days like today don't come too often---Thank goodness! Tomorrow is another day. A whole week of school begins----I'm already tired just thinking about it!
