HERE I AM

Okay, I thought it was time that all you cyber friends know what I look like. This is me with my son, Paul. I was over at Kat's blog and she thought I was a strawberry blonde. Nope. Not blonde, not even once in my life. I might save that for my mid-life crisis. I have no make-up on, so my eyees look a little ghost-like, but hey, at least my under-eye circles aren't showing. I must have slept well last night.

This morning I had to have my oldest son at band practice by 6:45am. I thought I'd give the other kids a treat, so I stopped by the donut shop before going back home. The donut shop is right across the street from the high school football field where the kids practice band. As I leaned over in my seat to reach for my cash in the ashtray, I heard what I thought was my heartbeat going crazy in my ears. I thought maybe this was a sign that I DIDN'T need to be buying donuts! ha. Anyway, I sat up, shook my head, touched my chest over my heart, and THEN realized that the drummers had begun their practice and I was hearing the drum line. Whew, I was so relieved.

Root Canal Complete

Well, today was a typical Monday (yes, I realize it's not Monday, but it sure feels like it.) I just returned from another dentist appointment where my root canal was completed. I took Kathryn with me and for an hour she sat beside me and made not a sound. I was and still am in shock and I praised her over and over again for being such a good girl. The house is a wreck from the three day weekend. I guess we pretended that yesterday was Sunday as we did nothing----no work whatsoever---to the house. So, here I am, on the computer instead of folding clothes. I have read the Gospel for today---which is something, I guess. Today it talked about Jesus renaming the apostles. I often wonder what my heavenly name will be. Since I won't know that until I reach heaven, I guess I'll just have to strive for that wonderful title of, "Good and Faithful Servant." That's work though, you know? That is my ultimate goal, to be addressed like that when it's my turn at the pearly gates. I also walked 1.5 miles today----yes, I about died at the park. I really dislike exercise---hence my wide backside---but I know I need to do it. If I keep at it, it will get easier. Neglecting my duties does not make for a good and faithful servant, so I will get off of here now. Peace to all who enters here.

Women In The Church

When I got up from laying with the two youngest children, these two kiddos were "playing Mass," as they call it. This is the only time that I find it perfectly okay for female priests----in their pajamas, in the kitchen. They use kool-aid or colored water for the "blood" and smashed wheat bread for the "body." I have to say, this is the first Dora the Explorer chasuble that I've ever seen!
