An Activity for Everyone

I would highly recommend this vacation spot for any family. We stayed here on a Wednesday night, so we were able to save $100 off the room. I think they run this special all the time. The rates seem rather pricey, but I figured that if we went to a waterpark for two days and had motel rooms (we take two now) for a night, the prices would be very comparable to what we had to pay to stay here. We were able to check in at 1pm and the waterpark passes were good until 10pm the NEXT day. Not to shabby!! It ended up only being a 3 1/2 hour drive, which was one of the highlights of the trip!
I'm glad to be back home. I ended up getting an eye inflammation on the way there. I get this about once a year and it's brought on by stress (go figure). I felt it coming on the way to KC. I called my eye doc when I got there and ended up getting some meds from Walgreens. I really like to support the small, local pharmacies, but I am very happy to have the big chain pharmacies when emergencies arise. The bummer was that I had to wear my glasses instead of my contacts, which was hard for me as my vanity does not allow me to enjoy wearing my glasses. I had to put drops in EVERY HOUR for the first two days and was able to change that to every two hours today. It cost me, too, as I had to pay $.50 everytime I opened my locker at the waterpark, and every hour it had to be opened. Oh well, at least I feel better.

Fun, Without the Sun

This place is really almost unbelievable. To have all of this--INSIDE! The motel rooms are connected. We had a loft suite that slept 8. We squeezed in nine, but that's not hard to do with little ones.

Splish, Splash

The water slides were so much fun. Yes, even I got my brave mask on and took a ride. It scared me to death, not because of the ride, but because I was so afraid that the child in front of me would let go and get hurt. I did it twice, and that was plenty for me. I sure enjoyed watching, though!

Tree House

This photo is a little dark, but this is the big treehouse that is the main focus of the waterpark. It has ropes, pulleys, buckets, valves, climbing ladders, on and on and on.........FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
BTW, that is not me picking my seat. Although, I wish I looked that good in my suit.

Home, Sweet Home!

I'm baaaack.............Okay, I told a big, fat lie as Hubby said I was giving out too much information onto the world-wide web. We did, actually, go to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. Hubby didn't want any sick-o's meeting us there---smart man! So, I'm off to Grandma's to pick up the dog and I'll post some pics later. We had a GREAT time and the trip was the best vacation we've had, yet. Chao............

VACATION!!

The family and I are off on our vacation this morning. We've decided against the The Great Wolf Lodge, but will still be visiting the Kansas City area. I'm not looking forward to the 5 hour drive, but hopefully everything will be peaceful.

I enrolled five children in school yesterday. It was really exhausting. School starts Aug. 18th. I haven't bought school supplies. I'm a little behind this year. I'll take the supply lists with me and maybe I'll find some good bargains in the big city.

Peace, friends. Have a good week.

Wichita

I want to live in Wichita, Kansas. Please, if you have any good connections with God, pray for this for me. I have it all worked out in my mind, but Hubby seems to think it isn't the best thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah...................I know what you're going to say, but I don't want to hear that! ha. I just want to be there and I want you, my blogger friends, to pray for God's Will for this. I think it's so important to surround the family/kids with like-minded people, with Adoration (especially that in which is geared towards children), Daily Mass, etc. etc. etc. I will not say anymore other than these things are here, but families with small children feel that they are not welcome. This move that I want is not because of the thrill of a big city, the family that is there, nor the fact that the friends that we love most are there, too. It has to do with the wonderful things that the diocese has to offer my family. My 14yo said today that he wants to go to Catholic High School. Not many teens say that. You've seen my big house----I don't want it. You've seen the big yard---I don't want it. You haven't seen, but I have all I could ever need, except what my heart desires most. I'd also like a skinny back side, maybe you should pray for that too! ha.

One of the Highlights of the Conference

One of the highlights was seeing the male silverback himself, Ragemonkey Fr. Shane Tharp. http://ragemonkey.blogspot.com I hadn't seen him since he was "only" a Deacon at a local parish. I can almost rest assured that this wonderful man will one day be a common name in most households. I'll be very quick to be a namedropper and let others know that this guy I am proud to call friend.

Proud to be Pro-Life

These sights from the conference speak for themselves.

The Rosary

Each day we said the rosary. Don't you know how proud I was as my three oldest girls sat there, fingers working the beads, praying and being proper. AND, don't you know that my nice little, perfect moment was interrupted as Paul, 4yrs., took his brother's baseball cap, put it on backwards, puffed out his chest, and hollared, "You wanna piece of me?"

Who knows what goes thru the minds of children, but this evening when we got home, we heard some of the things that the kids thought went on. Paul said that Jesus came to visit him in his classroom. Who knows what speaker that was, but my son thought is was Jesus in the flesh.
Karyn told me that her teacher was talking bad about her brother. She said the teacher said that Paul was once named Saul and was bad at one time. She didn't think it was very nice that a stranger was talking bad about her little brother.

Catholic Youth

This is my son, Philip, and his best friend, Jacob. Michaela, Jacob's sister, is to the right. We stayed with this family while at the conference. We were greeted with such wonderful hospitality---fresh sheets (not a common occurance here at home! ha), hot breakfast (my friend made egg casserole and coffee cake for 16 of us), and most importantly, great company. We had a great time. We put the kids to bed and watched "Hitch." I was only mildly embarrassed when I woke myself during the movie with a snort as I nodded off. Luckily, the movie was loud, so I don't think anyone noticed.
The kids had a great time at the conference. There were great speakers and it was such a joy to see kids pumped and on fire for the love of Christ.
